Day 1: Arrival & Inobong Substation Warm-up (D)

  • Arrive in Kota Kinabalu and transfer to Sinurambi Cottage.

  • Afternoon birding at Inobong Substation in Crocker Range Park.

  • Return to Cottage for dinner, birding banter, and a good night’s rest.

  • Overnight at Sinurambi Cottage Rental/ Nuhu Resort/ D’Arc Hotel

Day 2: Sugud Firewood Reserve Exploration (B/L/D)

  • Full-day birding in the Sugud Firewood Reserve Forest.

  • Enjoy a light packed lunch in the forest as you continue your search in this dense tropical paradise.

  • Overnight at Sinurambi Cottage Rental/ Nuhu Resort/ D’Arc Hotel.

  • Return to your cottage for a hot dinner, and review your sightings with your guide.

Day 3: Inobong Waterfall Trail & Garden Birding (B/L/D)

  • Morning hike along the Waterfall Trail

  • Afternoon garden birding around the cottage.

  • Dinner is served al fresco with views of the Crocker Range.

  • Optional night walk for owls or frogmouths can be arranged.

  • Overnight at Sinurambi Cottage Rental/ Nuhu Resort/ D’Arc Hotel

Day 4: Montane Birding at Gunung Alab (B/L/D)

  • Day trip to Gunung Alab (1,900m) for montane forest species.

  • Enjoy your packed lunch amidst the chilly mountain air before descending back to Sinurambi Cottage.

  • Overnight at Tandarason Resort & Country Club.

Day 5: Transfer to Tambunan – Trus Madi Foothills (B/L/D)

  • After breakfast, check out.

  • Overnight at Tandarason Resort & Country Club.

  • Afternoon birding near the base of Mount Trus Madi.

  • Check-in to Tandarason Resort & Country Club

  • Scenic drive to Tambunan.

Day 6: Deep Forest Birding – Trus Madi Trails (B/L/D)

  • Full day exploring Trus Madi’s lower slopes and forest research area.

  • Packed lunch will be enjoyed at a forest shelter or along the trail.

  • Return to Tandarason Resort for a farewell dinner.

  • Overnight at Tandarason Resort & Country Club

Day 7: Return to Kota Kinabalu (B)

  • After breakfast return to the city with optional roadside birding enroute to the airport.
